Boys' Jr High
Grades 7 - 8
The FFC Jr. High League is designed for older boys who have had some experience playing basketball and are looking for fun and fellowship at the community level. This league is geared toward developing teamwork skills in addition to individual playing skills. For this league, intermediate basketballs (28.5) are used, and the hoop is raised to 10 feet.
20 minutes before each Saturday game, we take time to share biblical principles with the players and encourage them to pursue a life with Christ in our huddle time. Players and coaches are also encouraged to memorize scripture verses weekly. This is all part of our Championship Series Points (CSP) system, which determines the league champions.
This league runs from January to March each year.
Note: According to OHSAA regulations, boys participating on school teams may not play in First Friends Leagues.

League begins: January 2 Skill Assessments: January 5, 2012 Last names beginning with A-L please come at 5pm, Last names beginning with M-Z please come at 6pm. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to get checked in. Second skill assessment will be Jan 7, schedule will be posted on website at later date. Please wear First Friends Basketball jersey if you already have one and plan to arrive 15 minutes early. If you do not have a FFC jersey, please be prepared to purchase one and wear it at skill assessments. T-Shirts must be worn under jerseys at all times! Mandatory Parents Meeting: Same time as Skill Assessments on Jan 5. Practice Days: Thursday at 5:00pm or 6:00pm depending on the team you are placed on. Devotion huddles will be held after practice for 20 minutes. Game Days: Saturday at 3:00 or 4:15pm time varies each week Festival Day Activities: March 15, 2012 at 5:30pm Note: The players in this league will be drafted for the teams according to ability, to best serve each player.
