The first program for First Friends Baseball is designed to introduce boys and girls ages 5-6 to the basics of the game in a non-threatening environment. This is a parent participation league that promotes family relationships with the primary goal of having fun. The league meets on Saturday mornings and is designed to give the players and parents a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of catching, throwing, hitting and base running. There will be a few weeks the teams will have a team practice. The last five weeks we will play one hour games with players getting a chance to play all positions and the entire roster batting. No score is kept in these games. This league uses a cloth covered "ragball" to insure safety for young players. The league concludes with a festival day that includes events, food, and awards for each participant. All games are preceded by a short devotional time where we share biblical principles with the players and encourage them to pursue a life with Christ.
