A - Machine Pitch
Boys Ages 7-8
The second level of First Friends baseball is the A machine pitch league. This league is designed for boys age 7-8 to learn the fundamentals of baseball in a fun, friendly, non-competitive environment.
The teams practice 1 day a week and the first few Saturdays, with games taking place on Saturday after a few weeks. This league uses pitching machines to introduce young players to hitting a pitched ball. The balls used are a "sof-tee" baseball to insure safety while delivering a realistic feel. Games are 1 hour long, the entire roster bats, and players have the opportunity to play all positions.
Because the focus is fun and skill development, score is not kept for this league. The league concludes with a festival day that includes skills competitions, food, and awards for each player.
Each week, before the game, we take time to share biblical principles with the players and encourage them to pursue a life with Christ.
