Girls' Cadet
Grades 4 - 6
The Cadet League is geared toward all skill levels for girls in the sport of basketball. Skills to be taught in this league include dribbling, passing, shooting and defending. In competing with others in the community, girls are able to develop a strong ethic of sportsmanship, learning to compete in a friendly manner.
The Cadet League contains two divisions, Scarlet and Gray. Players in the Gray division play with the hoop adjusted to 9 feet, while players in the Scarlet division play with the hoop at 10 feet. Players in both divisions use women's regulation basketballs (28.5).
20 minutes before each Friday game, we take time to share biblical principles with the players and encourage them to pursue a life with Christ in our huddle time. Players and coaches are also encouraged to memorize scripture verses weekly. This is all part of our Championship Series Points (CSP) system, which determines the league champions.
