“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23
The Bible tells us that we are supposed to work at ALL we do with ALL of our hearts as if working for the Lord. At First Friends Church, we believe this truth can be applied to athletics as well. Just as with any gift or ability that God has given us, we should seek to use sports like volleyball to glorify Him!
3 Values of All-Out Sports
All-Out Sports takes its value of Athletic Excellence seriously! We seek to teach our players the game of volleyball in an age appropriate, healthy and encouraging environment.
All-Out Sports believes that there is such a thing as “healthy competition.” When we strive to make each other better by giving 100% on the court, challenging our opponents to do the same, everyone wins!
All-Out Sports recognizes that while we may have a few hours a week to train your students, parents and guardians have invaluable time away from the court to help their young players grow in the sport. We help to equip you to be a great coach at home!
The Red, White, and Blue leagues are designed for girls in the 4th, 5th, & 6th grades. Players of any skill, beginner through advanced, are welcome. This league will play in a three division format (Red, White, & Blue), breaking up the players by age and ability.
This league begins with skill assessment in December, and practices beginning in January with the season ending in March each year.
Skills that will be taught include serving, serve reception, setting, passing, blocking, and transitioning. The adapted net height and the use of USVA certified Volley Lite volleyballs ensure personal success. Players will need to provide their own knee pads and First Friends All Out Sports League volleyball jerseys are required. The jerseys are included in the league fee.
Each team consists of a roster of 9 players and two coaches. There are 8 games with practices once a week. Immediately following the practices (starting the practice before the first game), we take time to share biblical principles with the players and encourage them to pursue a life with Christ in our huddle time, which will last approximately 15-20 minutes. Players and coaches are also encouraged to memorize scripture verses weekly.

Special Request Policy:
The First Friends Sports Outreach staff is committed to making the
Youth Co-Ed Basketball program a quality league that seeks to
accommodate the needs of those who choose to participate. That’s
because each individual matters to our league, to our staff and to our
church. This is the reason that the All Out Sports program allows
parents the opportunity to write in certain requests/preferences.
However, due to the large number of requests that we receive each
season, it is impossible for our staff to fulfill every request.
Here is how the requests are prioritized:That said, the First
Friends Sports Outreach staff also recognizes that, in a league of our
size, mistakes will be made. If this is the case (i.e. your child is in
the wrong division, an imperative carpool link is not met), then we
would be happy to discuss a solution. This can be done by contacting
the First Friends Sports office at 330-966-6868. However, any other
preference not met was the result of the above system of priorities and
the rosters would be set as final. Again, we do our best to accommodate
as many requests as we can and regret any inconvenience.
