A League (Machine Pitch) Rules
1. You must have FUN at all times! This is the most
important rule in this league.
2. Each player will be given a max. of 7 pitches to
hit. If the player has not hit a fair ball after 7 pitches, they will have the
option to hit the ball off the "T".
3. An inning will consist of 3 outs or 5 runs.
4. The hitting rotation will consist of the entire
roster.
5. No game score will be kept. You should only be
aware of the number of runs scored in a particular inning.
6. 10
players will play in the field per inning. (4 in field, 4 out field, pitcher,
catcher)
7. Games will be 5 innings or 90 minutes in length. No
new inning after 80 minutes.
8. Balls
hit into the parking lot on the old field will be ruled a ground rule
triple.
9. There will be no stealing bases; players must remain
on the base until the ball is hit.
10. When the ball in returned to a defensive player in
the infield, players must return to the base closest to them, either forward or
back. In general, don't take the extra base.
11. Coaches will be the umpires for the game. The coach
who is pitching will be the final authority. Any coach can make a call if they
have a good view of the play.
12. 2
defensive coaches will be permitted on the field to assist and direct their
team.
13. Players
should rotate positions each inning. Safety is the primary concern, therefore
not one is required to play 1B or Catcher.
14. Offensive coach will feed the pitching machine.
15. Batters and base runners must wear helmets at all
times.
16. A ball
hitting the pitching machine or generator is live. If the ball goes foul the
batter will be awarded first base.
17. A ball
coming to rest in the area of the pitching machine will be considered a dead
ball and is off limits to players for their own protection.
18. Players
should be at the field no later than 15
minutes before each Saturday game for a team huddle time. There
will be no team huddle time for the week-night games or practices.
