Major League Rules
1. Games will consist of 7 innings or maximum of 2:30 hrs
(no new inning at 2:15).
2. A game is deemed official when 4 innings have been
completed, or if the home team is leading after 3 1/2.
3. Each team will play 9 players in the field
4. Each player
must play a minimum of 4 full innings in the field, and sit 1 full inning if
possible. No player on bench for 2 consecutive innings. (based on regulation
game)
5. There is a 6 run limit per inning except in the 7th
inning which is unlimited.
6. Mercy Rule: If
team is ahead by 10 or more runs after 4 innings, the game is over.
7. The infield fly rule will apply. (correctable call)
8. The batting order will consist of the entire roster
available at the game.
9. Any player may be removed from the field and or switch
positions at any time. However, the
batting order may not be changed.
10. Catchers must wear a protective cup at all times when
playing defense.
11. The home team is listed LAST on the schedule and will
sit on the third base bench.
12. A player may pitch no more than 3 innings per game. No Pitcher re-entry. 13 year old must pitch 1 complete inning.
13. Innings pitched will go by outs (for example, 1 out made is
1/3 inning).
14. The home teams score book will be the official book
used by the umpire.
15. The league director will determine whether the field is
playable due to rain.
16. Once the ball is returned to the pitcher, all base
runners must return to their base unless they are advancing toward the next
available base.
17. Batter may run to first on a dropped third strike
(unless 1st base is occupied and <2 outs.)
18. First base coaches must be either adults or
players. If players, they must wear a
batting helmet. Coaches may not touch runners while ball is in play, penalty,
runner is out
19. Lead-offs and stealing are permitted.
20. If there is a possible play at a base the runner has
three options: 1) return to the previous base, 2) slide, or 3) avoid the fielder. A player is not forced to
slide, but collision with the fielder will result in automatic out and possible
ejection.
22. A fielder may not block a base unless in possession
of the ball.
23. New pitcher gets 7 pitches first appearance, 4 for
every new inning.
24. Rotation sheets due to umpire or league director
immediately following the game
25. All rules not mentioned above will be at the discretion
of the League Director or Umpire, whose decision, is final.
CSPs- Championship
series points will determine league champion
1. Huddle time -30 pts max -minus 5 for each child late or absent -20 minutes prior to
Saturday games.
2. Memory verse -4 per team/week (coaches included) -5 points, verses are cumulative (for
example, in week 3 may be asked for verse from weeks 1, 2 or 3)
3. Winning team -15 points, losing team -5 points, tie is 10
each
4. Each team will receive 10 points for a correct rotation sheet. No player sits 2 consecutive innings, all
players sit once if possible.
5. Extra Credit - Each player will receive 1 point for each verse written
