MENS BASKETBALL RULES

Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be
tolerated. This includes TRASH TALKING,
DISRESPECT FOR LEAGUE AUTHORITY (all coaches, league director,
scorekeepers), EXCESSIVE ARGUING and/or FIGHTING. First offense is TECHNICAL FOUL, second offense is a ONE GAME SUSPENSION and possible expulsion from the league.

Games are 4-12
minute quarters. Continuous clock except last 30 seconds of the each quarter;
last minute of game/overtime; Clock will stop for all made baskets in the
last minute of the game. Free throws, clock RUNS. 4th quarter - stops on first shot,
resumes when shooter shoots 2nd shot.

Home team starts
with possession of the ball. Then, alternating ball. For jump balls or discrepancy (when teams
cannot agree on a call) the ball will go to team with the arrow.

Fouls and
violations are based on the honor system. When in doubt call the foul. Work at getting the call right, not gaining
an unfair advantage. HAVE
INTEGRITY, EITHER OFFENSE OR
DEFENSE MAY CALL FOULS (Discrepancy should be used by coaches to
avoid arguments and delay)

Three seconds is
not allowed. Simply ask the offender to
get out of the key.

International
rules for inbounds, that is one foot out of bounds. Inbounds in the front court will be a checked
ball. Back court will be an inbounds and a live ball.

Free throws: players
enter the lane on the shooters release. Shooter waits until the ball hits
the rim.

Fouls shoot on
the 5th team foul of each quarter and all fouls the last 30 seconds
of each quarter and last minute of the game. All will be two shots, 3 if three
point shot. All shooting fouls shoot two(or 3).

Intentional
fouls are voice activated by a player who is close enough to touch an
offensive player with possession of the ball. Intentional fouls are 2
shots. A foul on a breakaway is intentional
= 2 shots.

Technical fouls
can be called by a league director or his appointee (score
keepers/coaches). Technical fouls will
be called for any unsportsmanlike conduct and for all profanity
heard. All technical fouls will be 2
shots and possession.

Back-court
violation will be enforced.

A team may
substitute at any dead ball or after a made basket by the other team.

In case of a tie,
there will be 1 two-minute overtime. Fouls continue. If tied after OT, the game
is over.

Each team has 1
timeout per quarter, and 2 in the fourth. One in the last minute, and one before the last minute. No carry
over. In overtime, one timeout per team.

24 second
clock will be used in the 4th quarter only.

A shot attempt
that does not hit the rim or backboard is live and may be rebounded by the
shooter.
