“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23
The Bible tells us that we are supposed to work at ALL we do with ALL of our hearts as if working for the Lord. At First Friends Church, we believe this truth can be applied to athletics as well. Just as with any gift or ability that God has given us, we should seek to use sports like soccer to glorify Him!
Each week, we take the time to share biblical principles with the players and encourage them to pursue a life with Christ, they include player participation and memory verses. Attendance at devotional times is required. The season will conclude with a league celebration that includes food, fun, participation awards, and league champion awards.
First Friends Sports Ministry
We believe that our first and most important mission in our community is to raise up a generation that has a moral/spiritual/ethical foundation. We use the platform of sports to accomplish this mission. This mission does not diminish our desire to have a quality sports experience. We seek to teach our players the game of soccer in an age appropriate, healthy and encouraging environment. We believe that there is such a thing as ‘healthy competition.’ We have been doing this for over 50 years. We are a “recreational” league that is designed to give our players the opportunity to play the game in a safe and positive environment.
Our Fall League begins in August and the Spring League begins in April. Registrations are available a month prior.
|Registration||Registration for Fall League will be available online and in our church brochure racks by June 21. Deadline to register is Aug 14, or when the league fills up, whichever occurs first. PLEASE REGISTER CHILD IN THE DIVISION ACCORDING TO WHAT THEIR AGE IS ON SEPTEMBER 1 OF 2019 FOR FALL SESSION. Any deviation from the age standard requires prior permission from the league director.|
|Fees||$55.00 per child (includes t-shirt) ($5.00 fee retained if refund requested)
