All classes are a part of First Friends Sports & Recreation Ministry. The Sports and Recreation Ministry at First Friends (FFC) is rooted in our belief that all areas of life are sacred and everything we do must be under the Lordship of Christ (Col 3:17-23). We believe God is delighted when we pray but also when we play. He has created us with abilities and desires to play and compete and thus we “worship” Him in our activity (Romans 12:1). The Sports and Rec Ministry of FFC gives the whole family opportunities for health, fitness, friendship, fun, competition, venue for outreach, and spiritual development in an inviting, Christ-centered atmosphere. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23
Participants in Girls Cheerleading will receive instruction on motions and jumps along with learning sideline cheers. No prior cheer experience is required. It does not matter what school district your child attends. There are no OHSAA regulations for girls regarding cheerleading. Girls Cheerleading Squads will cheer for First Friends Youth Sports teams on Saturdays during the fall season. Squads will be determined by grade. Click on the tab “Important Information” to view more details.
|Registration||Registration will be available online with payment of debit/credit card or with paper registration form at the church Welcome Desk, Mon-Fri 9am-4:30pm. Registrations will be accepted until Program fills up, or TBA, whichever occurs first. Please do not include your Sports Fees in your church offering. If paying by check, make payable to First Friends Church.|
|Fees||$65.00 includes uniform (2018 fee subject to change)
($5.00 fee retained if refund requested)
Refund Policy: No refund will be given to any participant who withdraws after the second week of practice. An exception may be granted at the discretion of the staff due to medical reasons only. Further, no refund will be given to any participant removed from the league during the course of the season for disciplinary reasons.

This League is for girls in grade Kindergarten (age 5) through 6th grade. Teams will be arranged in the following age divisions:
K (or Age 5) – 3rd Grade Division
4th – 6th Grade Division
*Please note that divisions are subject to change based on participation.
Fall Cheerleading for Girls begins on TBA with a Parent Meeting and Uniform Fitting and ends on TBA with a Celebration Activity for participants and their families.
Parent Meeting and Fitting schedule is as follows:
Uniform provided consists of Cheer Top, Skirt, Pom Poms and Bow. Parents will need to provide the pants worn under the cheerleading skirt know as “spanky”, white tennis shoes and socks. T-shirt (no spandex or tank tops) and fingertip length shorts (no spandex or jean shorts) for practice and a water bottle with your child’s name on it. Hair needs to be worn up in pony tail. It is suggested that participant wear a red long sleeve top under the Cheer Top at games, when weather is cold.
Practices: Thursdays at 6:15pm – 7:15pm inside church, (will change to 5:45pm – 6:45pm along with Flag Football schedule) First practice is TBA.
Game Day and Times: Saturdays, late morning to early afternoon. Schedule will be announced when season begins.
Schedule below is from Fall 2018 season, subject to change.
Division 1 K-3rd grade Cheer Saturday 10:15am-11:15am
Division 2 4th-6th grade Cheer Saturday 11:30am-12:30pm
Both Divisions Cheer every Saturday through end of season.
We always cheer on the field closest to the big soccer field.
*We do not cheer for week day games, only Saturday games.
Celebration Day: TBA and will be held after Flag Football Games. Participants and family members are invited to attend. Food and drink will be provided, please bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Please note that when we list ‘boy’s/men’s’ or ‘girl’s/women’s’ we are referring to the birth gender of the participant. For all of our leagues, classes, unless they are designated as Coed, it is our policy that players participate within the gender designation that complies with the previous statement.
